Job Purpose

Intake of donated goods including clothing, bedding and towels. Sort items in designated areas. Responsible for rotation of stock, to include recommendation of disposal of defective stock. Receive deliveries, maintain inventory, keep workspace clean and organized. Provide customer service through face-to-face interactions and phone calls.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Select and sort donations by category, seasonal, size, color, type of clothing 

• Examine items for any defects including holes, stains, or other issues

• Restock shelves/racks with sorted items

• Prepare rejected goods for proper disposal 

• Maintain a neat, safe, organized, and clean work environment at all times

• Share experiences, answer questions, and set a standard for other volunteers

• Clean shoes, purses and accessories

• Label clothes, shoes, purses and accessories

• Check client’s orders for accuracy  

• Maintain store inventory and closet supplies

• Unload deliveries while keeping the stockroom clean and organized

• Perform other duties as assigned

Job Purpose

Fulfill clothing requests by providing personalized and genuine service to every client. Have a passion for fashion and knowledge of clothing fit and styles. Select clothing based on guest’s needs and lifestyle preferences. Familiarize yourself with inventory and maintain an organized work environment. Provide excellent customer service to our clients and those you are serving.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Utilize inventory on hand to fulfill requests for clothing based on guest’s needs

• Neatly package, label and organize completed requests

• Contact guests/agencies once orders are complete, organize pick up of bags

• Respond to guest’s needs effectively & efficiently, act with urgency to deliver results

• Keep the closet organized and clean, update inventory once orders are complete

• Perform other duties as assigned

Job Purpose

Lead the organization’s overall communications, fundraising and community engagement strategies, working collaboratively with the CEO and board members to develop and implement strategies to broaden the impact of Sharia’s Closet’s programs.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Collaborate with CEO, board members and staff to develop communications strategies that will broaden reach and deepen impact within the community

• Connect with outside organizations/agencies, community leaders, and schools to bring awareness of our services and expand our reach

• Identify fundraising opportunities, coordinate related activities and expand donations

• Promote awareness of the organization and build support through media relations and networking events

• Oversee branding strategy, ensure consistent and meaningful content in print & social media

• Serve as co‐editor for the organization’s website and all social media platforms (develop/edit content, post events, monitor site traffic)

• Oversee response to inquiries about Sharia’s Closet from media and the community

• Outreach to local schools, universities, businesses and other groups for volunteers opportunities

• Perform other duties as assigned 

Desired Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree or current student with focus in communication, marketing, social work, public health, public administration, or a related field

• Marketing, fundraising and management experience

Job Purpose

Responsible for volunteer recruitment and training. Supervise volunteer activities and provide training and guidance for volunteers. Maintain and track all volunteer applications, hours and schedules.

• Manage recruitment, screening, interviewing, orientation and training of new volunteers

• Provide on‐site training and supervision, ensure that volunteers are supported and motivated

• Record and maintain volunteer hours and schedules

• Plan volunteer recognition activities

• Acts as a liaison between Sharia’s Closet and the community

Job Purpose

Responsible for all phases of grant seeking, to include researching grant opportunities, developing and submitting grant proposals. Track all grant seeking activities, and work with operational staff on grant implementation. Excellent written and oral communication skills.

• Research available grants and prepare grant proposals

• Knowledge of the organization’s financial needs and goals

• Track all grant opportunities and submissions, provide follow up and distribution of grants

• Write and send letters of thanks to grantors and donors

• Any other grant writing and fundraising tasks which may be assigned

• Perform other duties as assigned

• Experience researching, writing and submitting grant proposals

• Proficient in Microsoft Office

• Develop effective outreach strategies based on target populations

• Follow through with donors, to include thank you cards, invitations to events

• Set and reach fundraising goals

• Ability to interact with individuals and present to large crowds to share Sharia’s Closet’s Missions, Vision, and Values

• Perform other duties as assigned
